Deb: My name is Debbie and I live in Dryden, a small town in northwestern Ontario. I've always had and enjoyed dogs for many years, specifically border collies. I found the breed to be very intelligent, they are very responsive to their handler and a real joy to work with. At the time the CKC didn't recognize the border collie and so I was limited to what I could enter into. I've always admired the german shepherd and wanting to be able to compete and title my dogs, I began to familiarize myself with the breed. After alot of thought and mentoring from people that knew and worked in the breed I bought my first Czech/East German working line dog. Being a small town and having no access to training facilities and dog clubs like the bigger centers I decided to open my own after attending a course in B.C. It's called Dryden Canine Academy and we offer people obedience classes, rally obedience classes, show handling practices as well as agility for some fun. I still own two border collies and enjoy them immensely. I also have seven german shepherds and each of them are very special to me.
